In English, there are four main Present Tenses.

  • Present Simple – have/has, don’t have/doesn’t have
  • Present Continuous – am/are/is having, am not/aren’t/isn’t having

Here are the most common questions about lessons, booking and learning with Open Minds English.

What level of English do I need to start lessons?

We support learners at all levels, including complete beginners. Many learners already know some English at A2 or B1 level and want to become more confident intermediate or advanced speakers. Kevin speaks intermediate German and French and some Levantine Arabic, so he can also support you if you are a beginner.

Does Open Minds English teach British or American English?

We focus on British English. Kevin is a native British English speaker and you will recieve guidance on English from the UK that is commonly understood across Europe and beyond.

How long are lessons?

Individual lessons are available as 50-minute or 25-minute sessions. If you would like a lesson longer than 50 minutes, you can book consecutive lessons through the booking system. Group lessons are 50 minutes long.

Can children learn at Open Minds?

Yes, children can take lessons with us. We have helped many children from the age of 8 and older. We understand how important this is for parents and can support your child with confidence, school topics and extra English practice.

What happens if I can't attend a lesson?

Plans can change or you may become ill. Our policy is that you must reschedule or cancel a lesson more than 8 hours before it starts. If the cancellation is later than that, we are unable to reschedule or refund the lesson.

How do I book lessons?

You need to register an account first. After registration, you will have access to the student portal where you can book individual lessons or lesson blocks.
